What is your educational background and teaching experience?
“I have taught ESL, Spanish, and French for over 20 years. I was 17 when I got my first ESL job.
Why do you like teaching?
“I love to see my students learn and progress. It makes me happy to know that I can help them communicate and become proficient in English.”
Why did you choose to teach ESL students?
“ESL students come from all over the world. I enjoy learning about their cultures. They are motivated to learn and have a positive attitude.”
What have you learned from your students?
“I have learned that in spite of our differences we are all very much alike. We all share the same human experience, the same struggles, and the same joys.”
Do you have a funny story connected to teaching ESL students?
“When I first started English, I spoke with a very posh British accent. I had to teach myself to speak with an American accent to avoid confusing my students.”
What are some of your hobbies/things you enjoy?
“I enjoy doing Zumba and yoga. I’m also an avid reader and love my Kindle.
"I was in Cristina's class for one term. My experience was extremely positive. She is a really good teacher, and I like seeing how she is passionate about her job. This benefits the students, and in my experience, gave me more motivation in studying English."
