Cristina has been teaching for about 25 years. She gets excited when she sees students progressing and becoming more confident in their ability to communicate. She loves reading and she considers it her personal mission to help non-readers discover the joy of a good book.
On the weekends, Cristina enjoys a great yoga class, reading a good book, cuddling with her dog Simon and spending time with her granddaughter. She really liked doing medical interpreting at a Marietta clinic because she was able to help Spanish-speaking patients who did not speak English communicate with doctors and healthcare workers. It was challenging, but also very rewarding.
Cristina’s a big fan of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. This is a great organization which rescues dogs and cats from shelters and finds them foster homes and ultimately permanent homes. That is how she found her dog, Simon.
She would like to be remembered as someone who cared about people and inspired them to achieve their personal best.
